One significant change this year is that we will no longer hold
two man time trials. Instead, These have been replaced by two
40km Time Trails between Adare and Newcastle West.
In addition the Veterans will all now race under one category.
A handicap will be given to each rider over 40 years of age
based on their date of birth and distance of the time trial. This
will see all veterans compete against each other under what is
an internationally recognised system.
As an example: a Veteran born in 1950 will be given a handicap
of 3min 16 sec on a veteran born in 1970 over 18km. Over the
40km distance the handicap would be 8mins 10secs.
It should make for competitive racing in the Veterans Category.
